Abercorn Care Limited Staff Training Web Site

The training and up-skilling of care home staff is an important part of improving the service we provide to our residents and their families. Along with investment in staff, to enable then to meet the Scottish Social Services Councils qualification requirements, we also support our own training web site to try and raise awareness and understanding. The following links takes you to Abercorn Care Limited's training web site, SSSC web site, as the professional body for health care workers in the social sector, and to the new Scottish Care Work Force Initiative web site. Additional links are also added, at the bottom of this page, for ease of access to vital new topics that may be important for the care we wish to deliver:

The Tissue Viability On-Line web site is part of the Scottish Goverment's initiative on pressure ulcer care and prevention and what is a vital part of the health care sector. The site has been developed by Etellect and is available for training purposes for Abercorn Care Limited staff using the link above:

The possibility of a flu pandemic within the social care sector is something that need consideration in light of recent events. The link above aims to give guidance and provide local authorities and other social care organisations with the tools and resources needed to meet the challenges presented by the swine flu pandemic. It has been produced primarily for commissioners and providers of social care services, but may also be relevant to those supplying and supporting the social care sector.

The above e-learning package link is aimed at all healthcare workers who have a responsibility for immunisation. The programme was developed in collaboration with NHS Education for Scotland (NES).

NES have also developed a resource pack to support the training of immunisers which can be accessed by following the link above:
